Shannon Helgeson, reporting to you live from Typhoon 14! Taken around 6pm, this photo shows the graying skies over Fukuoka. Typhoon 14, less than 12 hours away from hitting us head on, is said to be twice as large in size as Hurricane Katrina was, with winds of up to 45 meters per second (roughly 150 ft./sec, or 1/3 the length of a football field/second). There's already been flooding in Tokyo, and the actual typhoon hasn't even made it that far North yet. All schools have been cancelled tomorrow, all the plants are being brought in from the veranda, and the bathtub is being filled with water just in case! Flashlight in hand, I'll be updating my blog all day long tomorrow, so stay tuned.
